Adult Movie Almanac

Have you ever wanted to find reviews for the movies by your favorite adult star that are  accurate and objective reviews by a respected authority, together with ratings, comparison, plot summary, cast, director, running time, heat quotient and info on where it is available from, at the click of a button? And when you searched the web high and low, you either found no information or you only got not phony, smarmy public relations/marketing ploys and sales pitches from a zillion websites, right? The Adult Movie Almanac is the answer to this perennial problem faced by all of us. 

Noted adult film historian Jim Holliday and a number of respected adult film critics have got together to create the Interactive Adult Movie Almanac CD; this Almanac contains 750 movie titles and over 250 adult performers, including all the major stars of the adult industry. As an added bonus, several QuickTime movies are also included. All the 'classics' as well as more recent releases of note are included. 

You can search by movies (title), by stars (actors) as well as various other criteria including Rating, Fetish, director etc. and also combination searches. Within the text, there are hyperlinks so you can jump from movie to movie, star to star, as your fancy takes you. For instance, I did a search for Christy Canyon, here is Christy's 'Profile' page:

You can see that her 'profile' is quite detailed (need to scroll down to see the full text), the same detail is available for other stars; next, to check out all the major movies Christy Canyon appeared in, I do a  search, and come up with the movies, each of which has its own review, cast, rating, heat quotient, director, production company, and most importantly, a very decent and detailed review with a photograph (I can flip through the movies by clicking on the pages of the book). It's great fun to do searches for say, all movies that had both Kay Parker AND Honey Wilder in them. Or all movies that have a rating of 4 stars or more. Or all Big breast movies by a particular director. It's also nice just to 'leaf' through the stars biographies one by one, the write-ups are truly detailed, and have a lot of detail not available elsewhere. But really the Almanac comes into its own when you need to check up the review or cast of a movie you are going to buy or rent. Any movie that's worth watching made before 1993 is listed here, and you can be pretty sure that you won't be wasting your time or money if you select your movies based on this. 

The Adult Movie Almanac also has a large collection of star pictures and a number of quick time videos. The CD was made way back in 1993 and has not, to my knowledge, been available in the market for the last few years. A rare collectors item that is essential for all fans.
